Mike Murry has just completed our house in Agnes Water. Our block is in a quality location with surrounding homes to match, and we wanted a house that reflected this. The brief called for a contemporary but timeless, single level 3-4 bedroom open plan, low set, single level home for indoor/outdoor living. We also wanted the house to blend comfortably within the surrounds  without being overly ostentatious.

As we are from Melbourne and were not able to supervise the project directly, we particularly wanted a builder whom we could trust and feel comfortable with.  In a "long distance project" avoiding hassles was one of our prime concerns.  Especially, we wanted to avoid the pitfalls so often heard from clients of large volume, project home builders. We achieved this working with Mike and Cheryl, where we established a one on one personal relationship.

Prior to selecting our builder we asked around and got a consistent reply that if Mike is available you should try to get him. It soon became obvious that Mike was respected and liked in the local community and this was reflected in the quality of tradesmen working for him.  Mike's knowledge throughout the design process was invaluable and reassuring.  Mike's wife Cheryl was also great with her suggestions for interior design, colour coordination, and the multitude of other selections we needed to make. Cheryl also went out of her way in helping us coordinate various other aspects of the project that we couldn't manage from a distant location. Some of these were above and beyond the call of duty and not really part of the builders brief- certainly this was invaluable from our point of view and was most appreciated.

Communication was very good and as such I only travelled up twice prior to completion of the project.  On both occasions it was clear that my decision was vindicated.- Mike's pride in the work as project coordinator, his high standards, and attention to detail was terrific. As well, I felt that Mike and Cheryl were extremely accommodating and flexible with their time, and for this I was very grateful.

It was a joy to walk into the competed product. Everything was as expected and the house certainly has a lovely "feel" to it. I had no hesitation in "signing off", and am confident that should any maintenance issues arise in the future, Mike will be available to remedy these. The project was completed on time, within budget, and was as stress free as building can be, so that in the end we got what we wanted- a quality custom built home that will stand us in good stead for years to come and offer us a wonderful family living environment.

Teamed with Mike Murry's professional service was a willingness to make meaningful suggestions to build the home that best suited us. Winning the 'Small Lot Housing of the Year Award' was really the icing on the cake for us and only confirmed that we had made the very best choice. I am now looking forward to Mike fitting out my new surf shop next year."
